Master the Art of Transformation: Spring Fashion Looks

This week we’re excited to share a post from one of our favorite lifestyle and fashion sites, Lux & Concord at www.luxandconcord.com. We’re strong believers in dressing for success, and to impress, so L&C wrote a little something especially for our Adon Solutions readers! Here’s how you can transition from your workday look to evening style, with a few key pieces. Simply start by experimenting with trends and making them your own. You don’t need to break the bank to do so! We hope this helps get you through spring season in style.

Dapper Suit: Spring runways showed a new take on an old look. We’re seeing some revisited trends in a new way simply with an updated color palette. Designers brought suits to a new level by placing the emphasis back on cotton and linen suits for spring. Fret no more about the wrinkles and embrace the lighter weight fabric this season for a carefree look. Taking the corporate factor down a notch with a less tailored two-piece will allow for an easier transition from day to night by incorporating less traditional hues in charcoal or navy, keeping in line with the nautical trend. You can also lighten up your palette with a modern twist on an essential summer staple, seersucker, in cool tones of gray and white. Try some of our local favorites, Apartment Number 9 (apartmentnumber9.com ) or Haberdash (haberdashmen.com), to blend old-school charm with a cool classic style.

Day to Night: We are all for playing with colors, textures and the unexpected. Keep the workday blazer and pair with a plaid shirt, printed tie or colored trousers for a quick revamp. If you donned a skinny tie at work, use this fun little trick and turn your tie into a bowtie!

Must Have: The shoe of the season, loafers. Try pairing an updated loafer with a two-piece suit. While loafers have traditionally been reserved as a more casual option, we’re seeing dressier versions making their way in.

Tailored Essentials: Corporate world or a night out, let’s face it ladies – we never know what to wear. Lucky for you, transitioning from one to the other forces you to make a decision ahead of time by adding or eliminating a few pieces. With a fast paced environment, the days of going home for a quick change are no longer an option. We’re counting our lucky stars if we have anywhere up to half an hour before we have to hit the next event. The best way to offset this is to take it back to the basics. Building your workday outfit around a classic pencil skirt, a modern skinny trouser, high-waisted trousers, or an LBD allows for a seamless switch. One of the biggest, and perhaps our favorite, spring trends is black and white with a modern take on classic office wear.

Day to Night: Master the art of transformation by adding a different shoe, jewelry, belt and/or a clutch. To maximize your look, swap your office cardigan for a leather jacket or boyfriend blazer. Pair a sheer blouse or chiffon top with your skinny or high-waist trousers and cinch at the waist with a bold belt. If a cab ride is your only time to freshen up, bright lipstick is your best friend. Simply pulling your hair back and adding a pop of red or magenta lipstick will easily transform your look.

Must Have: Make a statement with bold accessories. A bright or oversized necklace or bracelet will add an instant dose of drama to any look. We love a good arm party – and our favorite finds happen to be from another local gem, SARCA. (www.shopsarca.com)
